Firm Sale At Westfield
[Special to ‘'Northern Advocate”l AUCKLAND, This Day. There was a fairly large yarding of good quality steers at the Westfield fat stock sale today. The demand was steady and a firm sale resulted, with values on a par with late quotations. Top price was £ 17. The entry of cows and heifers was an average one. Bidding was keen and values for all classes remained steady at late rates. Alfred Buckland and Sons, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency and Dalgety and Co., report: Extra choice ox to 41/- per IGOltas; choice and prime ox, 33/- to 40/-; ordinary and plain, 34/- to 36/-; extra prime young cow and heifer beef. 33/- to 37/-; choice and prime, 30/to 32/-; ordinary cow beef. 25/- to 39/-; extra heavy prime steers, £l6 to £l7; heavy, £l4/10/- to £ls/10/-; lighter steers, £l3/10/- to £l4/5/-; light, £ll/10/to £l3; small and unfinished, £9/10/- to £ll/5/-; extra heavy prime young cows ancl heifers, £lO to £l2; heavy. £B/10/to £9/16/-; lighter, £7/10/- to £3: other killable cows, £5/10/- to £6.
