BOMB’S DELAYED EXPLOSION KILLS SEVEN ON CLYDE

(Rec. 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 16. A bomb, which has lain ors the bed cf the River Clyde since the mass German air raid on the Clydeside in March, exploded today and killed seven men. Four tugs were moving a ship from its berth when the bomb exploded beneath them. Five of the crew of one tug and the foreman and electrician on the dockside were killed. Men handling the ship’s mooring ropes were blown into the water, and others on the wharf were knocked over. The blast shook the waterfront buildings.
