Mystery On “Busman’s Honeymoon” At Plaza

The novel and laughable situation of a young English nobleman with a leaning towards crime detection, and his wife, a writer of detective fiction, who journeyed to the countryside only to discover a corpse in the cellar of their honeymoon cottage, is told in “Busman’s Honeymoon,” which opened at the Plaza Theatre last evening. Lord Peter Wimsey is a man-hunter in tep hat and tails, and as portrayed by Robert Montgomery emerges as a delightful personality, while Constance Cummings as his wife, brings wit, humour and attractiveness to the story. Such distinguished British players as Sir Seymour Hicks, Leslie Banks and Robert Newton head a strong supporting cast. After the discovery of the body. Lord Peter Wimsey, despite the pleas of his incensed wife, is drawn into the network of solving the crime, and so there is nothing for her to do but to add her wits to the detection so that the honeymoon can proceed in peace. The mystery is solved and the murderer discovered, but the adventurous, romantic and amusing situations make a most interesting and exciting drama.
