To Solve Delivery Overlapping In Kaikohe
THE GOVERNMENT IS EVIDENTLY SPARING NO EFFORT IN ITS DETERMINATION TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF DELIVERY OVERLAPPING OF BREAD, MEAT AND GROCERIES IN SMALL COUNTRY CENTRES. ATTENTION HAS BEEN GIVEN TO THE SITUATION AT KAIKOHE, AND THE LATEST GAZETTE PUBLISHES OFFICIAL DETAILS OF THE “KAIKOHE DELIVERY SCHEME, 1941.” The schedule records the names and addresses of six persons who are entitled to deliver supplies in the district and the extent to which they are so entitled. Thus to one man is allotted Mondays to Fridays inclusive while schools are open, and otherwise Tuesdays and Fridays only. Two have Tuesdays and Fridays only, one Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, one Tuesdays and Saturdays, and one Thursdays only. Special Routes Allocated ♦
Fully to appreciate the intricacies of the scheme, however, it will be necessary to study a plan “deposited for the purposes of the scheme in the head office of the Transport Department at Wellington under No. 3293,” from which it will be learned that each man has his own special route to follow marked in his own distinctive colour on the plan. The lines of red, green, violet, blue and orange must be rahter effective, although it seems a minor defect that two men have to share the colour orange. Details of Deliveries Persons entitled to deliver bread, meat and grocery supplies in the district, and the extent to which they are entitled, are as follow: R. Watson (Awarua), on Mondays to Fridays (inclusive) while schools are open, and otherwise on Tuesdays and Fridays only over the rout? marked red on the plan.
W. M. Wilkinson (Kaikohe), on Tuesdays and Fridays only over the route marked green on the plan. A. E. Webb (Kaikohe) on Tuesdays and Fridays only over the route marked violet on the plan. N. Khutz (Kaikohe), on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only over the route marked blue on the plan. E Morfette (Kaikohe), on Tuesdays and Saturdays only over the route marked orange on the plan. E. Bott (Taheke), on Thursdays only over the route marked orange on the plan.
