Cigarette Butts For Sale In France
I Owing to the scarcity of tobacco in France, cigarette stubs are now being sold in the market places. In every city and town there are armies of persons hunting them in the streets. An advertisement appears in the newspapers urging the public to “save your cigarette stubs” and send them to the Little Sisters of the Poor. The sisters have begun sorting and cleaning the tobacco from the cigarette butts for distribution to indigents. Cigarette butts and cigar stubs have always been considered a commercial commodity in France, and a snarket for them existed on the Place Maubert in Paris,
