Professional Boxing
[Special to “Northern Advocate”! AUCKLAND, This Day. Two professional boxing bouts were staged by the Auckland Boxing Association at The Town Hall last night. The main bout was between the welterweight. Vic Caltaux, of Auckland, holder of the New Zealand championship, who beat Jack Davis, of Hastings, with a technical knock-out in the ninth round. In a preliminary welterweight contest, Ken Reid, of Taranaki, won from Bert McKay, of Auckland, on a foul, the latter being disqualified in the fourth round for hitting low.
