China Confident Of U.S. Good Faith
(Rec. 2.30 p.m.) CHUNGKING. Sept. 15. After conferring with the United States Ambassador (Mr. C. E. Gauss), the Chinese Foreign Minister (Dr. Quo Tai-chi) said that he was confident the United States would not deviate from the Far Eastern policies so consisenily and faithfully observed in the past. The United States not only had no intention of making any arrangements at China's expense but China would be fully consulted. China, therefore, awaited the outcome of the Washing-ton-Tokio conversations with calm confidence.
