Bulgaria Will Not Fight Russia
LONDON, Sept. 4. The Bulgarian Government is reported to have informed Germany that it will not declare war on Russia and send troops to assist ’the Germans. Bulgaria’s traditional friendship with Russia made this impossible, but in other respects Bulgaria was willing to have Germany as an ally. One report from Ankara says Bulgaria has flatly rejected a German demand that it enter the war against Russia. King Boris received the German naval commander in chief (Admiral Raeder), yesterday. The Germans claim that they will be ready this month to start a shipping service from the Bulgarian Black Sea port of Varna to Istanbul. The vessels, will l?e escorted by E-boats..
