[Special to "Northern Advocate”] AUCKLAND. This Day. Though the demand for banks and insurances remained slack, there was more activity on the Auckland Stock Exchange today, with interest in industrials and miscellaneous issues well sustained. A notable gain was in New Zealand Refrigerating (paid), which sold at 2/3 higher than in July. Woolworths (N.Z.) were active on a firmer market, while Auckland Gas continued their steady appreciation. Mackv Logans also enjoyed strong buying supnovt. A seller at £l/4/later withdrew. Bank of New Zealands were without buyers at both calls. Sales completed at Ihe noon call were: Auckland Gas. 0/8: Dominion Breweries, £l/10/-; Broken Hill Pt.v.. £2/3/-; Consolidated Brick, 7/3; Woolworths (N.Z.), 14/3.
