Loyalty Of N.Z. Czechs, Yugoslavs
[Special to "Northern Advocate"] AUCKLAND, This Day. A reaffirmation of their loyalty to New Zealand and sympathy with the Allied cause is contained in a joint declaration issued by the Czechoslovak and Yugoslav consuls and presidents of the Yugoslav Club, Croatian Society and Czechoslovak Association in Auckland on the occasion of the second anniversary of the war. Solid support for the British and Russian military alliance and thanks to the British Empire and America for help to the Slav nations is expressed in the declaration. “Our hearts go out to the Czechoslovak and Polish armies formed on Russia’s tortured soil,” the declaration states. “We are proud of our heroic Croats, Serbs, Slovenes and Montenegrins, who are unafraid of' the hor rible revenge and fight in evergrowing guerilla units of the Yugoslav forces in the Middle East and of our Czechs who are wrecking Nazi industries and bombing Germany and supporting the rebelling Slovaks. Also of our indomitably brave Poles."
