Germans To Use Nedich As Yugoslav Darlan
LONDON, September 3. Yugoslavs in Turkey interpret the formation of a new Government in Belgrade under General Nedich as proof of German uneasiness in the face of the extension of warfare to the mountainous south-eastern part of Yugslavia, reports the Istanbul correspondent of “The Times.” This movement is wrongly called revolutionary. It is really a continuation of the war by large units of the Yugoslav army who refused to surrender. The Germans apparently plan to use Nedich as a sort of Darlan, hoping thereby to secure the submission of officers and men who are still fighting.
