Sheepskin Marketing To Be Overhauled

[Special to “Northern Advocate”l WELLINGTON, This Day. The Minister for Marketing and Agriculture (Mr Barclay) has announced that it has been decided to set up a committee to investigate fully the present method of appraisal, packing, fellmongering and eventual sale of woolly sheepskins in the Dominion. The personnel will be: Mr H. M. Ohristie, 'Government representative (chairman): Mr R. C. Burgess, sheepskins controller; one producers’ representative to be nominated by the Meat Producers’ Board; one butchers’ representative to be nominated by the Master Butchers’ Association; one brokers’ representative to be nominated by the Wool Brokers’ Association. The purpose of the committee is to ensure that the system for sheepskins is operated to the best advantage of farmers and butchers. It is expected that the committee will commence work- within the next few days.
