Killed 500 Germans
‘‘One of our machine-gunners has officially been given credit for killing 500 Jerries in Greece—he got out alive but the Jerry ran a tank over one leg, so I suppose he is on his way back to New Zealand,” writes a Taranaki soldier in a recent letter.
