Raglan Retains National Savings Flag With 100 P.C.

For the twelfth fortnightly period of the National Savings “Flag” Competition, which closed on July 7, no changes in regard to the “leading towns” are disclosed, although increased percentages are reported in all cases. For Dominion leadership pride of place is retained by Raglan, in the Hamilton district, where the magnificent record of 100 per cent, success is recorded, the number of national savings depositors equalling in number the local population. Ruawai Moves Up Edendale, in the Invercargill district, retains second place. with 88.5 per cent. despositors to population; Chakune Junction (Wanganui district) being third with 09.5 per cent. For fourth place Ruawai (Auckland) with 02.5 per cent has displaced Murchison (Nelson) whose persentage is 01.4. The Leading Towns For all districts the leading towns are: Auckland district, Ruawai; Blenheim, Ficton; Christchurch. Waiau; Dunedin, Owaka; Gisborne, Te Araroa; Greymeuth. Hokitika; Hamilton, Raglan; Invercargill, Edendale; Naoier, Porangahau; Nelson, Murchison; New Plymouth. Stratford; Oamaru, Kurow; Palmerston North, Pongaroa: Thames, Thames; Timaru, Geraldine; Wanganui, Ohakune Junction; Wellington, Featherston; Westport, Westport.
