One Of Four Victims Dies Of Food Poisoning
[Special to “Northern Advocate’’l AUCKLAND, This Day. Suffering from some form of food poisoning, four employees of the Westfield Freezing Co.’s works were taken suddenly ill at the works shortly before 2 o’clock this morning. After being attended by a. doctor, they were sent to hospital by ambulance, but on the way George Matthews, aged 25, married, living in the city, died. The other men are Edmund Tetai, aged 26, of Ponsonby; J. G. Cullen, 42, of Newton; Leonard Grundy, 40', of Parnell. The three latter men were treated in the casualty department and later returned to their homes. The police and Health Department are investigating.
