Appeal For Blood Transfusion Service

Following the appeal by the Minister for National Service for voluntary donors to the blood transfusion services, local bodies and district organisations are being circulated by the director of the department. A letter from the director came before " the Whangarei County Council at its monthly meeting today, asking that the appeal should be brought before the notice of councillors.

Cr. A. Clarke moved that the question should be referred to the chairman and staff with power to act for the conveying of information to th& public after consultation with the superintendent of the Whangarei Hospital.

Seconded by Cr. R. Feaver, the motion was carried, Cr. T. N. Blake remarking that the action was on tire right lines.
