N.Z. Donates Radio For Melbourne Buffet

[Per Press Association. Copyright.) WELLINGTON, This Day.

The Lord Mayor of Sydney (Aiderman S. S. Crick) has written expressing appreciation of the recent decision of the National Patriotic Fund Board of New Zealand to provide a radio gramophone for use in the Sir John Monash' Hut and Anzac Buffet at Hyde Park, Sydney. The services provided by the Hut and Buffet have been available to New Zealand soldiers who have passed through Sydney, and it is in recognition of this that the gift is being made.

The gift, states Alderman Crick in the letter, provided further evidence of the bonds of friendship uniting the sister Dominions. Arrangements would be made for a suitable presentation ceremony.

Alderman Crick mentioned that since the buffet was opened in December, 1939, 700,000 men have been served with meals free of charge.
