Dutch Give Hospital Ship For Anzacs
CANBERRA, April 2.
The new Dutch 20,000 ton motor liner Oranje has arrived at an Australian port, having been made available by the Netherlands East Indies Government for use as a hospital ship for Australia and New Zealand. The acting Prime Minister (Mr Fadden), in making this announcement said that the Commonwealth and doubtless the New Zealand Government regarded the Netherlands Government’s. action as a most generous gesture, more particularly as the cost, of conversion and subsequent manning of the ship would be borne by it.
