Revenue, Spending Up In Britain

- British revenue for the year ending March 31 reached £1,408,867,097, exceeding the estimate of the Chancellor of the Exchequer by £48,676,097, while expenditure at £3,867,245,670, although 101 millions a day, was £115,879,330 below the estimates. .- Compared with the previous year revenue increased by £208,782,000, and expenditure by £254,922,815. Income tax yielded £523,940,000, an increase of £133,866,000, and an excess over the estimate of £13,440,000. Receipts from stamps fell below the estimate by £550,000, while motor vehicles duties and the post office brought in somewhat more than the estimate.

The average expenditure during the last three months rose to £13,000,000 a day.
