Whangarei Mayor Seeks Re-election
An announcement was made last night by the present mayor of Whangarei (Mr. W. Jones) that, in response to numerous requests, he had decided to again contest the mayoralty at the forthcoming elections. He ■ has been mayor since 1929 and for the last two elections has been reelected unopposed. He had also served as Whangarei county chairman and once represented the Marsden electorate in Parliament, when he stood as Reform Party candidate. *
