The Week’s Shipping Losses

[British Official Wireless ] (Rec. 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, April 1. Mercantile losses due to enemy action, for the week ended midnight on March 23, totalled 17 ships, with a tonnage of 59,141. The total comprised 10 British ships of a tonnage of 24,940, six Allied with a tonnage of 27,528, and one neutral of 6673 tons.

It is interesting to note that the Germans claimed to have sunk 387,000 tons during the period, and the Italians 10,000, making the truly “grand” total of 397,000 tons claimed.
