Mr and Mrs H. Crene have returned after spending a fortnight in Auckland. Mr and Mrs F. Lawrence, who have spent some weeks with Mr and Mrs P. Crene. left on Sunday for Auckland. Mr H. Carr is visiting Auckland.

The annual meeting of the Takahue Soldiers’ Welfare Club was held in the hall on Friday, Mr J. Stewart presiding. Subscription was reduced to 5/por quarter. A credit balance of £26 13/- was reported. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr D. Banks for auditing the books. Tiie following committee was elected: Messrs J. Stewart (chairman), E F. Bradley (secretary and treasurer). Beazley, B. Wright, J. Parker, N Masters and H. Quai’terman, jun.
