The unanimous selection of Mr C. E. G. Harkeir, M.P., as the National Party candidate for the Waipavva seat at the next general election was made at the annual meeting of the Waipawa electorate branch.
Mr. M. B. Peat, formerly of Whangarei and Darg'.aville, has been appointed manager of tlje National Bank of New Zealand at Hamilton, vice Mr. D. Robertson, who retires at the end of next month. Mr. Peat is at present manager at the Oamaru branch.
