Rain Mars Kaikohe, Kaeo Tennis Match

[Special to “Northern Advocate”l KAIKOHE, This Day. Rain marred a visit to Kaeo by members of the Kaikohe Tennis Club on Saturday afternoon after what promisedi to be a most interesting contest had just commenced. Only seven games were played. Kaikohe players winning in all, but the matches were very closely contested and the results were no indication of the standard of the play. Results, with Kaeo names first mentioned : Men’s doubles: Johns and Mitcalf lost to J. and P. Smith, 2-0; Moslen and Watson lost to Colthart and Dargaville, 4-9; Johns and Hayden lost to Moor and Leigh, 8-9. ■ Ladies’ doubles: Mrs Johns and Miss Johns lost to Miss Robinson and Mrs Smith, 4-9; Miss Johns and Miss Lane lost to Miss Wopd and Mrs Hingston, 2-9; Mrs Moslen and Miss Hayden, lost to Mrs Moor and Miss Thompson. Only one match was played in the combined doubles, Miss Johns and H. Moslen losing to Miss Wood and Colthart, 3-9.
