Auckland Had 400 R.N.Z.A.F. Recruits

Last week more than 400 young men applied to join the Royal New Zealand Air Force in Auckland, when a Do-minion-wide campaign for air crew recruits, mainly pilots and observers, was commenced. Gratification with the response was expressed bj l, Squadron-Leader A. G. McArthur, chairman of the Selection Committee, who, with Lieut. L. Lidgard, of the Royal New Zealand Air Force educational service, Wellington, was kept busy interviewing applicants each day last week.

The committee will be at Hamilton today and tomorrow, and Whangarei, Kaikohe and Dargaville will be visited on Thursday, Saturday and Monday respectively.
