Waipu

A dance in honour of the local men home on leave from Papakura camp was held on March 7. Messrs Brooks, J. R. Mackay and Peat were M.Cs. Mr G. McLean, in the absence of Mr A. J. McKay, called upon Colonel Lang to present Gunner Bowmar and Ptes. Pocock, Peepe and Keppa ’each with a wallet.

Novelty dances were won by Miss M. McLeod and Mr Finlaysqn and Mrs Bowmar and Mr McMullan.

Personal. Six members of the local Mounted Rifles are attending a camp of instruction at Avondale.

Mrs M. A. 'McLean has returned from a holiday spent at Northcote. Mr and Mrs Main spent their annual leave in Auckland. Mrs Codlin, of Hamilton, is visiting friends in Waipu.

Mr and Mrs Len Bowmar have taken up residence in Waipu.
