Miss Margaret Kerr
OBITUARY
The death has occurred in the Whangarei Public Hospital of Miss Margaret Louisa Kerr, daughter of Mr William Kerr, of Otaika Valley. She was aged 28 years.
Born near Huntly, Miss Kerr came to the Whangarei district when her parents settled in the Otaika Valley twenty years ago. She was an,,active member of the Lone Guide organisation, and had attained the rank of lieutenant.
Always keenly interested in the affairs of Otaika, Miss Kerr was a members of the local Women’s Institute until it .went into recess..
Bible Class Worker,
She took a prominent part in the work of the Otaika Methodist Bible Class. For, a time she was Otaika correspondent for the “Northern Advocate.” Miss Kerr had not enjoyed good health for a number of years, and recently had taken a holiday in Queenstown. Last week she returned from a further holiday at Parua Bay, and on Sunday evening suffered a seizure which necessitated her removal to hospital, where she died in the early hours of this morning. This is the third death the Kerr
family has experienced in the last 18 months, during which time Mrs Kerr and another daughter have also I died. I Miss Kerr is survived by her father, I three brothers. (Messrs D. Kerr and J. Kerr, both of Otaika, and W, Kerr, of
Hamilton) and one sister (Mrs M. Fitness, Whangarei). The interment will take place at Maunu cemetery- -on Thursday*;,
