A short yarding of good quality ox beef sold under keen competition at the Westfield fat stock sale today. Prices in this section were very firm. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., Dalgety and Co., Ltd-, and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows: Extra choice ox, 39/ per lOOlbs; choice and prime ox, 35/ to 38/; secondary and plain, 32/ to 34/; extra prime young cows and heifers, 30/ to 34/; choice and prime, 27/ to 29/; ordinary cow beef, 22/ to 2t>"; extra heavy prime steers, £l4 to £ls 10/; heavy prime steers, £l3 to £l3 15/; lighter prime steers, £l2 to £l2 15/; light prime steers, £ll to £ll 15 ; small and unfinished steers, £6 10/ to £lO 10/; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £lO to £lO 5/; other killable cows, £4 to £6.
