Rain Today Ends Waikato Drought

HAMILTON, This Day.

Breaking ,a prolonged dry spell welcome rain fell in the Waikato today, the pastures receiving a much needed soaking. Prior to today’s fall, only .5 inch of rain had been recorded in Hamilton this month.

The downpour will check peat fires as well as freshen pastures and town gardens. For the 24 hours to 9 a.m. today .66 inch of rain was recorded.
