Position Of Seventh Day Adventists

[Per Press Association. Copyright.'] DUNEDIN, This Day.

During the hearing of appeals by Seventh Day Adventists before the Armed Forces Appeal Board, Pastor Naden said that in 1939 his church approached the Minister for Defence, pointing out its attitude to war. The Hon. F. Jones, he said, then assured him that as long as his Government was in power, conscription would not be introduced, so they need not be concerned.

When conscription was brought in, he added, his church wrote to the Minister again, and also to the Minister for National Service (Mr Semple), ancl it had been advised that the Government did not anticipate any difficulty as far as Seventh Day Adventists were concerned.
