Whangarei Concert Party Entertains Troops
The Second Battalion Auckland Regiment stationed at Whangarei, were entertained last evening by a concert party organised by Mr and Mrs A. Marsden Woods. Items were given by the following performers. Songs.—Mesdames Ray Stevenson, A. Dobson, A. M. Woods, Misses D. Steele, Fay Booth, Messrs W. L. Booth, R. G. Hosking and A. Allen; recitation by Mrs Tom Griffin; cornet solos by Brinton Griffiths. The accompanists were Mesdames G. Woolley, S. C. Blanshard; A. Allen, Messrs A. M. Woods and A. Dobson. Padre Isherwood told some of his inimitable stories and led community singing. At the conclusion the Officer Commanding (Col. Blyth) on behalf of the Regiment and visitors, thanked the performers for their excellent entertainment.
