Walter Wakelin Ltd. reports a successful sale at Maungatapere yesterday when a fair yarding met with a keen demand. Quotations:— Springing heifers sold to £6; Jersey heifer calves (small), £2 1/6; light boner bulls, to £5; boner cows, £2 5/ to £4; store cows, to £4 10/; twotooth ewes, 32/.
At the Pipiwai sale on Friday fat cows sold from £5 to £6; store cows, to £4; boner cows, to £3 12/; cows and calves, £3 3/ to £5 10/; two-year S.H. heifers, to £4; two-year steers, £4 to £5 10/; springing heifers, to £5 5/; yearling steers, to £3 10/; boner bulls, £4 to £6 10/; heifers, r.w.b., to £4 5/; two-year empty Jersey heifers, to £45/; fat Shorthorn heifers, to £6.
