Penitent Cool Store Hands Find Jobs Filled

[Special to “Northern Advocate”! AUCKLAND, This Day. A decision to recommend to the men involved in the cool stores dispute that they should declare the dispute off was made on Saturday at a meeting of the Auckland district executive of the New Zealand Freezing Workers’ and Related Trades Union. The men met subsequently at the Trades Hall and debated the recommendation. The voting in favour of adopting the recommendation was practically unanimous.

It was distinctly stated at the meeting that a large number of men would be re-employed. A considerable number of men affected applied this morning for reinstatement but were told by the management that their positions had been filled and the company could not re-engage them. The manager of the company (Mr G. Brown) told a reporter that work was proceeding satisfactorily.
