Waipu Concert And Dance Well Attended
Scotsmen turned out in their scores for the wind-up concert to the New Year festivities at Waipu yesterday. After the concert dancing commenced and continued until 3 a.m. The duties of M.C. was carried out by various officials. During the evening, cups won during the sports day were presented by the president (Mr F. R. McKay). Items were given by the Waipu Pipe Band; songs by Misses J. Brooks, Jean Purdon, P. McMinn, Messrs J. Cochrane, J. Durham, J. C.- Wellby; duet, Miss J. Russell and Mr J. Durham; violin solo, Mr R. McKay; Highland dance, Misses Copeland and McMinn; Reel o’ Tulloch, Misses Cochrane, McMinn, Nordlolf and Mr D. Davidson; piping, Messrs R. and- G. McGregor, W. D. Finlayson and B. Sattrup; pipe solo; Mr B. Sattrup.
