Trial Handicap, of 120 sovs; seven furlongs.—(2-2) Eire’s Ruin, 7.11. 1; (3-3) Conldent, 8.1, 2; (1-1) Rue, 9.0, 3. Scratched: Papette. Two lengths; neck. Time, 1.28 2-5.
Dunedin Handicap, of 150 sovs; two-year-olds; five furlongs.—(3-3) Southern Wave, 7.9, 1; (2-2) Deserfi Maid, 7.8, 2; (1-1) Palfrey, 7.3, 3. Scratched: Divorce. A neck; two lengths. Time, 1.2.
Federal Handicap, of 200sovs.;. six furlongs—(2-2) Dorig, 8.11, 1; (1-1) Spanish Lad, 8.9, 2; (6-7) Boswell, 9.6, 3. Scratched: Night Calm. A neck; two lengths' Time, 1.13 2-5.
Killed. The Antarctic explorer, Major Lisle Charles Dudley Ruder, who has been missing since May 27, is now reported killed in action, says a London message. He was a member of Mr John Rymill’s expedition to Grahamiand. ~ -
