A Happy Gathering

A happy little ceremony took place at the “Advocate” office this morning, when the staff entertained the proprietors of the business and took the opportunity of expressing, by means of presentations, their reciprocation of the good feelings practically manifested towards them by the management. The family spirit whch has always charactersed the relations of employers and employed in years gone by was emphasised, and there was a general agreement that the same relations would continue, with mutual benefit to everbody. Mr Inkster, on behalf of the staff, presented Mrs H. W. Crawford with a handsome handbag', and Mr and Mrs B. W. Crawford with ,a smoker’s companion, this, as an artistic article of furniture, being intended as a joint gesture of esteem to both Mr and Mrs Crawford.

In the .absence of Mr W. E. Crawford, who is in camp, and was unable to reach Whangarei on leave before next week, Mrs H. W. Crawford was given an electric hot water jug to hand to the recipieht and his wife, with the best wishes of the staff and an expression of the hope that the war would be over during 1941 and that there might be a united party of the Crawford family next Christmas.

Mrs H. W. Crawford and Mr Brian Canvford made feeling acknowledgment of the presentations and the sentiments which accompanied them.
