Fairburns

The November meeting of the Fairburns Women’s Institute was held in the hall recently with a small attendance. Mrs. Lupton presided. A motion of sympathy with Mrs. Fisher and family in their recent bereavement was passed. Mrs. Foster, secretary, gave an account of the bi-annual Federation meeting held in Kaitaia on November 5.

Members were asked to make mystery parcels worth sixpence or a shilling to help swell the funds at a bring and buy next week. A competition was won by Mrs. Atkinson. The monthly competitions were for a refugee garment and a bowl of flowers. ;

Lunch was served by Fairburns members.
