Missing Tutamoe Girls Found Near Home
Two young girls missing from Tutamoe, near the Waipoua Forest, since Saturday afternoon, were found early this afternoon safe arid comparatively well.
The girls. Aneia Henry, 9, and Phyllis Parker, 10, v/ere lait seen at the Parker house at 11.30 a.m. on Saturday. It w.as believed they went into the bush, and when they did not return, a search was instituted, without success.
The police were notified, and under Sergeant Brady and Constables Wells and Bruce, of Dargaville, a party numbering 60 yesterday took up the search at 5.30 a.m. Footsteps Obliterated. Footsteps leading from near a waterfall into the bush were discovered, but heavy rain obliterated them. The search continued into the Waipoua Forest where it was found that the, Waipoua Stream was so swollen that it was impossible to cross. A large search party was organised today, and the girls were found, it is learned, not far from their home.
