’Change: S. British Insurances Stronger
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, Wednesday.
South British Insurances were stronger on the Auckland Stock Exchange today, following the announcement of a final dividend of 9<? and a bonus ef 3d f. share, raising the return for the year tc 171 per cent. Broken Hill Proprietaries also had a good market with buyers up to £2 Business was, however, very quiet at the morning call. There was an improvement in turnover at noon, with Government stocks most active at steady values.
Sales completed at the noon call toplay were: N.Z. Insurance, £3 0/6; Nfewton King preference, 11/; Dominion Breweries, £1 11/; Taupiri Coal, odd lot. £1 1/3; stocks. 15/3/40-43, 4 per cent.. £lOl 2/6; stock. 15/4/46-49, 4 per cent., £lO5 10/; stock, 15/6/52-55, 4 per cent, £lO7.
