The death has occurred at Otane, Hawke’s Bay, of Mrs Harriet Maria Mulinder. aged 99. Mrs Mulinder left England in 1859, and after her arrival in Wellington, came to Hawke’s Bay, where she resided until her death. The many friends of Mr G. Leaity, who has been manager of the Moerewa works of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Co. for the past 20 years, will learn with regret of his impending departure from Northland. A farewell will be tendered to Mr Leaity on Thursday next at Moerewa. Writing to a friend in Whangarei, Mr Max Bay, N.Z. hockey player, and Whangarei rep. at both hockey and cricket, tells how he introduced Rugby football to the Island of Taveuni, in the Fiji group. Before Mr Bay arrived to teach school there, the islanders had never seen a football, but shortly he intends to take a school team to compete in the Suva tournament. Incidentally, Mr and Mrs Bay recently became the parents pf a daughter.
