Northland Branch N.Z.R.N.A.

The Northland branch, N.Z.R.N.A., held a very successful “bring and buy” social afternoon at the Nurses’ Home, Whangarei, on Thursday, September 12. A substantial sum was raised for the nurses’ memorial fund. The council held their usual meeting before the main business, Miss Hammond being in the chair. It was resolved to donate three Christmas parcels to the troops overseas, and a parcel also to be sent to Sister Whelan, who is on active service. During the afternoon, Miss Cookson spoke briefly on the hospitals visited when in England and on the Continent. Songs by Mrs John Manning (Auckland) and Mrs A. M. Woods, and a recitation by Nurse Peggy Crawford completed the entertainment side of the meeting. Afternoon tea concluded the meeting.
