This picture shows a scene during a flight by Sunderland flying-boat, manned by members of the Royal Australian Air Force, while escorting a high seas convoy. The squadron is well on the way to creating a record for the number of hours flown on active service. The bomb-aimer, in the nose of the aircraft, sets his bomb-sights as the Sunderland swings away from the convoy to inspect a suspicious vessel.
