Two Feature Films, Two .. Comedies At Plaza Laughter, murder, music,' espionage —all are included in a remarkably diversified new programme which opened at the Plaza Theatre last evening, and which will be offered again tonight. Two feature pictures comprise the major part of the programme, but in addition are two comedies, one starring George Formby and the other Slim Summerville. In “Honeymoon Deferred,’’ Edmund Lowe, an insurance investigator, has married Margaret Lindsay and embarked on his honeymoon, when he is called away to discover whether a millionaire was murdered or committed suicide.
It is a racy story in the best Lowe manner, the bride pursuing the wayward husband and lending a willing but unwanted hand in solving the mystery, to the confusion of all. including the. police. The second feature, “Spies of the Air,” is a thrilling drama of aviation espionage with Barry K. Barnes as a test pilot. A secret new plane is being tested, but the Eritish Intelligence Service discovers evidence of leakage. The exciting story is further complicated by love ihterest and blackmail, and comes to a surprise climax.
