Country Patriotic Stall Opens Tomorrow
Country districts, working with the Whangarei sub-zone executive, have devised a method of giving practical and regular assistance to the raising of patriotic funds in Whangarei.
A stall for the sale of produce, flowers, needlework and a hundred and one useful articles will be conducted each Friday.
Whangarei zone executive has arranged for a temporary building, which is being erected on the vacant section next to the Bank of New Zealand. Rust Avenue, and within a few yards of the Bank Street-Cam-eron Street corner.
The first stall will be held tomoi row, and will be in charge of helper from the Purua district, of which Mi C. H. Finlayson is chairman. Three-Monthly Circuit. It is proposed that each countr committee should lake tu.TS in con ducting the stall. To this end a three-m:r.thly circui will be arranged. To hold bring-and-bv.y suits Jr. *h country districts where the teethings of farm and garden are abun dant is like bringing coals to New castle, but. townsfolk, it is ex peeler will appreciate the opportunity of ub tabling supplies and at the same tirn helping patriotic funds.
