Mr E. James, of the staff of the Hikurangi Dairy Company is on annual leave.

• Mr M. Doel commenced his annual vacation today. Mr J. Pomfrett has resumed duty at the Hikurangi Dairy Company after several weeks’ sick leave as the result of a football injury. Messrs S. C. Pomfrett and B. Lomas leave on Monday for the military camp at Ngaruawahia. Mrs B. Meyer and Miss F. Cunningham returned on Saturday after having taken part in the Country Week hockey tournament at Auckland.

Miss Marion Pearson, Hikurangi, maid of honour to the Northland Queen, left for Auckland on Tuesday to participate in the coronation ceremony.

Mr S. Hayward, Dargaville, spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs G. Hayward, View Road.

Mr J. Frew leaves tomorrow for a tour of the Waikato district. Mr C. Dunn has been visiting his sister, Mrs C. Hamilton, George Street.

Mr J. Hayward, of the Hikurangi Post Office staff, is on annual leave. Mr J. Ritson, junr., is holidaying with relatives in the South. Mr Norman Gibson is spending three weeks’ holiday at Dobson. During his holiday he will attend his brother’s wedding. Mr and Mrs Parks, late of Union Street, Hikurangi, have taken up residence in Dargaville. Mrs J. Twizel arrived by express on Wednesday to spend a few days in Hikurangi.

Mrs Edgar has returned after a fortnight in Auckland. Miss Mavis Spark, of Auckland, is the guest of her sister, Mrs C. Smith. She will be in Hikurangi for three weeks.
