Niagara Cargo Washed Ashore
C Special to “Northern Advocate”l AUCKLAND, This Day.
It is reported that some cargo from the liner Niagara which was sunk last week has been washed ashore. It is understood that the authorities have already taken possession of small quantities. A warning issued by Mr F. N. Abercrombie, Auckland Collector of Customs and Receiver of Wrecks, that any cargo or wreckage that comes ashore must either be delivered to him or he must be informed of its existence by the finder. Heavy penalties are provided for failure to comply with these obligations.
