Dairy Cows To £l2/10/At Opuawhanga Clearance
Walter Wakelin Ltd. report having held a very successful clearing sale on account of Mr R. J. Hailes, at Opuawhanga recently. Early calving Jersey cows made from £8 10/ to £l2 10/; July and August calvers, £6 10/ to £10; cows and heifers, recently calved, £6 to £lO 7/6; springing Jersey heifers, £5 10/ to £8 17/6; Shorthorn dairy heifers, £5 10/ to £7; Shorthorn dairy cows, £5 to £8 10/; store cows, £3 8/ to £5; Holstein heifer calves, £1 10/; two-year Jersey bull, £6. Farm horse, £23 10/. Sows and litters, to £7; weaners, 16/ to £1 3/. The offering comprised 147 dairy cows and heifers, and the average price was £7 3/, which is highly satisfactory. Buyers were present from the North and Auckland districts. A total clearance was effected.
