£IO,OOO Contribution From Basutoland
(Received 9.30 a.m.) [British Official WirelessA RUGBY, June G. The first instalment of a contribution from the people of Basutoland toward the prosecution of the war has been paid to the British Government. Of £IO,OOO forming this contribution, nearly £GOOO has been subscribed by the native community. In a message sent with the gift, the paramount chief speaks of his people’s desire to reiterate their unswerving loyalty to the King, and concludes:
“The King is justly fighting this war, and God will be-with us.”
