Not Allowed To Turn Recreation Park Turf

Granted the use of No. 1 ground on the Hikurangi Recreation Park, on condition that the turf of the field should not be turned, the local hockey club this week made application to the Town Board for special permission to mark out its field by turning the turf. Difficulties of having to mark out the field in whiting for each match were stressed by those making the application. After careful consideration of the matter the Town Board refused to grant permission. It was explained that other sports besides hockey used the ground and permanent marking by the turning of the turf would lead to confusion Another players.
