Only six European recruits, all with the exception of one being from country districts, offered for service, and there were no Maori recruits. Enlistments were: Whangarei-—A. T. Jordan (Whakapara), I. R. Summers." Kaitaia —L. H. Lovegrove (Herekino), R. H. Dunn. Kaikohe—D. C. Herbert (Kaeo), F. J. Bradshaw (Okaihau). Reduction at Auckland. A reduction in the number of enlistments in No. 1 (Auckland) area for service in the second New Zealand Expeditionary Force is shown in the figures for three days this week. On one day 67 men offered their services, but on the following days the number fell to 43 and 26. The total for the three days was 136.
